Moana, the legend from the end of the world is a Disney cartoon released in 2016. The story is inspired by Polynesian mythology. The legend tells that the goddess Te Fiti gave life to the ocean by creating the islands thanks to her heart, the jade stone. Her heart has the power to generate life with the birth of several islands. Many people coveted the heart in order to regain the power of creation. One day, Maui, demigod of the wind and the sea stole Te Fiti's heart thanks to his magic hook. Deprived of his heart, Te Fiti disintegrates and spreads chaos around. Maui tries to flee but is attacked by the demon Te Ka who also covets Te Fiti's heart. In the battle, Maui loses her magic hook and the jade stone at the bottom of the ocean. A thousand years later, grandmother Tala tells this legend to Moana, daughter of Tui, chief of Motunui.
One day, the ocean chooses little Moana to restore Te Fiti's heart, but her father Tui arrives and takes Moana away from the ocean. A few years later, the plague strikes the island, the coconuts rot. The fishermen can no longer find fish to feed the people of Motunui. Tala reveals to her granddaughter Moana the existence of a secret cave that hides many boats and explains that their ancestors were great travellers but that they had stopped sailing after the theft of Te Fiti's heart. Moana then decides to set out in search of Te Fiti to restore her heart and bring life back to the island. During this perilous journey, she sets out in search of the demigod Maui and together they will meet huge sea creatures. In this new Disney collection, Funko represents the two main characters of the cartoon: Moana (or Moana in French) and the demigod Maui. Fans will fall under the spell of the children's version of Moana, all cute or in formal wear. She is also accompanied by her two friends Pua, her pink pet pig and Hei Hei, the rooster.
This Pop! collection also includes several versions of Maui, including an exclusive version with a shark's head and, of course, a version with its magic hook.
