POP Maui (Moana)

Maui is one of the important characters in Moana, the Disney cartoon inspired by a Polynesian legend. According to this legend, the goddess Te Fiti created life through the power of her heart before settling in the middle of the sea, taking the form of an island. But Maui, the demigod of the wind and the sea stole her heart thinking of offering it to men to win their love. His gesture then caused misfortune and the destruction of the oceans and forests around. Indeed, deprived of her heart, the goddess Te Fiti loses her soul and spreads chaos around her. Maui then confronts the demon Te Ka, a terrible volcanic monster. In her fight Maui was thrown and lost her magic hook and Te Fiti's heart in the ocean.

A thousand years later, while her island is in danger, Moana, daughter of Chief Tui, goes in search of her so that together they can return Te Fiti's heart in order to restore balance to the archipelago. Maui is a stubborn character, strong and very full of himself. During her meeting with Moana, the demigod takes her back when she addresses him to add "Maui, the idol of men and women". He thinks she is there to sign an autograph, which annoys Moana. Her body is covered with blue tattoos that come to life on certain occasions. Moreover, in this famous scene about the meeting, he will illustrate her life in song and thanks to his tattoos that come to life. One of the tattoos represents "Mini Maui", which plays the role of conscience.

For this second Maui Pop! figurine, Funko uses the same characteristics of the first one, only the position of the left arm differs. He is still represented very big and fat, strong with big muscles and a big belly. On his torso and his arm, we find these famous blue tattoos he has in the movie, which represent different scenes of his life.
