Discover the action figures of Saint Seiya

The Knights of the Zodiac also called Saint Seiya is a shonen manga, written and drawn by Masami Kurumada. This manga is composed of 28 volumes published between 1986 and 1990 and there is also a deluxe edition of 22 volumes released from 2005 to 2006. In total, the manga Saint Seiya has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide. Following such a success, it was adapted into a Japanese animated television series of 145 episodes of 24 minutes from 1986 to 1989, by the very famous Toei Studio. It is the talented drawer of the Toei, Shingo Araki who transformed the work of the author to make this manga more beautiful to look at. Indeed, Masami Kurumada was not known to be excellent in drawing.

Since always, in the universe of Saint Seiya, when the forces of evil awaken and the balance of the world is threatened, knights dressed in their mythical armors inspired by the great celestial constellations, appear to protect the Earth. The knights are led by Athena, the Olympian Goddess of Wisdom, who defends the country in the world. These knights are also the guard of the Goddess and are eighty-eight in number, divided into three castes: twelve golden knights, twenty-four silver knights and forty-eight bronze knights. They fight with their powerful armor, bare hands and using their strength of Cosmos.

It was during a trip to Greece that a certain Mitsumasa Kida met a dying young man, Aiolos the Golden Knight of Sagittarius who entrusted him with his armor and a baby named Saori. This baby, according to Aiolos, would be the reincarnation of the Goddess Athena. So he asks Mitsumasa to find and train 100 young brave orphan boys so that they can protect the child in the future. It is only 16 years later that 10 of them come back from this intensive training and manage to get their armors, including the 5 main ones: Hyoga of the swan constellation, Ikki of the phoenix, Shiryu of the dragon, Shun of andromeda and finally Seiya of pegasus. We will follow the adventure of these 5 powerful knights in their task of protecting Saori Kido.

The story of the Knights of the Zodiac takes place in an original fantasy universe, mixing several different mythologies: Japanese, Greek, Scandinavian etc. ... It is this mixture of cultural references that will make this manga a success. Such a success, that Funko decided to make a collection of POP figures for the pleasure of all the fans of this mythical TV series. This collection includes the main characters of the Zodiac Knights like, Seiya, Shiryu Hyoga in their beautiful knight costumes and much more.
