POP Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg (The Fifth Element)

Jean-Baptiste. Emanuel. Zorg. This is how he presents himself in an august and whimsical way in the film The Fifth Element. Note that the name "Emanuel", in his case, has only one "M". Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg, or Jean-Baptise Zorg but also, more simply, Zorg is the main antagonist of the film The Fifth Element directed by Luc Besson. The character is then played by Gary Oldman, giving rise to a performance both eccentric, funny, but also terrifying. This is the second collaboration between Gary Oldman and Luc Besson after Leon.

Technically, Zorg is not the main protagonist in the sense that he only acts as a relay of evil; a cosmic and evil entity seeking to destroy the universe. However, precisely because this entity is undefined, Zorg will act as its representative and thus, as the main villain figure that everyone will remember as such.

Zorg is an arms magnate in the 23rd century universe. He has created, patented and designed destructive futuristic weapons that will be prominently featured during the events of The Fifth Element. Mandated by Evil, Zorg's task is to find Leeloo and the other four elements and destroy them. Thus, the universe will not have any other weapon to eliminate Evil. We don't really know Zorg's motivations for doing this. But we can guess that he is remarkably greedy, seeking to make money by proscribed and questionable means while acting as an arms dealer. An arms dealer who, in addition, deals personally with the mercenaries to whom he sells his devices of death.

Carrying on him quite marked wounds, having crippled part of his skull and causing him to limp, everything leads us to believe that Zorg has been reduced to this state by Evil, whose underling he is only obliged to apply his orders. Orders that he will follow to the letter as he joins forces with the Mandalores - formidable alien mercenaries - to eliminate Leeloo.

After the Mandalores fail, Zorg himself steps in with his advanced weapon to take out Korben. At the end of this battle, Zorg will find himself having to defuse a bomb he had programmed in extremis, before the last Mandalore activates his own bomb, eliminating his employer in the process.

The POP figure of Jean-Baptise Emanuel Zorg represents him in a futuristic outfit wearing a green shirt and a black suit with white stripes. One can notice that the face of Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg wears a kind of prosthesis on the upper right half of his skull, being then faithful to the original.

Indeed, the Funko POP of Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg also carries his rather whimsical hairstyle as well as a slight goatee. In his hands, Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg carries the last weapon of his creation, this one combining automatic fire, rocket launchers as well as a flamethrower, weapon with which Zorg will have tried to eliminate Leeloo and Korben Dallas after having been very "disappointed".
