POP Korben Dallas (The Fifth Element)

Korben Dallas is the main character in Luc Besson's film The Fifth Element. This film, directed by a Frenchman, was the very first opportunity for Besson to try his hand at American cinema. The result, then, was remarkably conclusive as an action movie star lent his features to the main character of the story.

Indeed, Bruce Willis was given the role of Korben Dallas. In this futuristic film, he plays a cab driver in an era where cars are suspended hundreds of meters above the ground, gravitating around the tops of skyscrapers.

Perched so high in his cab, Korben, who is known to be very skilled with weapons because he used to work in the special forces, sees his monotonous life changed completely when Leeloo, literally falling from the sky, crashes inside his cab. Korben, faced with a fait accompli, is then assimilated to the accomplice of this young woman at the center of an intergalactic machination that involves the figure of Evil in person. Korben, then, is only the unfortunate victim of circumstances. After being dismissed by Zorg, without a job, the priest Cornelius chooses him as a trustworthy person to serve as a bodyguard for Leeloo. As she is not really able to interact with the normal world and has no social skills for the moment, he has to protect her until she regains the five elements.

Thanks to his extraordinary martial skills, Korben will take care of the Mandalores, mercenaries sent by Zorg to recover the five elements for him. He will accompany Leeloo thereafter until she finds the strength to summon the five elements of which she is a part. His destiny as a cab driver, then, took a surprising turn when, by the greatest of coincidences, he became a hero in spite of himself and helped save the universe from a cataclysm.

The appearance of the Funko POP figure of Korben Dallas focuses on the smallest details. Indeed, true to the character's representation, the Korben POP presents the cab driver with dyed blond hair, an orange-colored wifebeater and leather pants with two boots at the end. With such a look considered futuristic in the 90's, the Funko POP Korben Dallas fits into the universe built by Besson!

Of course, as Leeloo's official "bodyguard", Korben Dallas carries a futuristic gun in his hand on the figure, a gun that can be seen in every detail. Thus, we can easily imagine that Korben Dallas' POP is about to fight the Mandalores using a weapon that probably comes from Zorg's factories.
