The New York Toy Fair announcements [Summary]

With more than 200 new figurines revealed during the Toy Fair weekend, the announcements made by Funko were full of surprises and good news! Numerous categories (animation, television, sports, games, etc.), dozens of licenses, POPs of all kinds (supersized, chase, glow in the dark, cross-licensing, etc.): that sums up the multitude of announcements made by Funko.

So here is a summary of the revelations and the brand new POPs that will soon be available :

• The Office : 8 new tribute figurines to the characters of The Office series, including 3 pops from Dwight ;
• Marvel Zombies: figurines from a brand new series with Marvel zombie heroes;
• Hello Kitty : a wave of POP where Hello Kitty is wearing US sportswear for the Tokyo Olympics in a few months;
• Disney Villains: three "villains" (Hades, Ursula and Evil) join the collection;
• Hello Kitty x My Hero Academia: Hello Kitty pays tribute to the characters from My Hero Academia;
• NBA: Six new NBA players are "popified" including Magic Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal;
• Tennis: a new collection with 8 players (current champions and legends of the sport) including: Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, Bjorn Borg, Nick Kyrgios, Roger Federer, Amanda Anisimova and John McEnroe;
• Soccer: 5 figures of players from the US national team, a great step forward as the football license is now limited to the stars of the biggest European clubs;
• Pokemon: three new Pokemon: Rattata, Osselait and Caninos, an angry Pikacku and a supersized Mewtwo! What else?
• Back to the future : 8 exceptional figures of Doc and Marty, special anniversary special for the 35th anniversary of the saga ;
• Fight Club : two exceptional figurines from the mythical movie : the first one is the one of Tyler Durden (played by Brad Pitt) and Norton (who exists in chase) ;
• Wonder Woman 84: a wave of 13 figures from the upcoming film Wonder Woman;
• The Knights of the Zodiac (Saint Seiya): a brand new license with 5 figurines of the knights;
• My Hero Academia: a wave of 12 new My Hero Academia manga figurines (including one supersized);
• Yu-Gi-Oh : the collection has almost doubled with the announcement of 7 new pop figures, 3 of which are 6";
• InuYasha: 6 POPs for this anime, including a supersized version of Sesshomaru as a demon AND a movie moment featuring the fight between Inuyasha and Sesshomaru;
• Looney Tunes : Bugs Bunny declined in 4 homage figurines where he wears outfits from the world of entertainment;
• Avengers / Marvel: a pop by Endgame, a POP by Stan Lee Thor Ragnarok, 2 Spiderman figures;
• 12 Avengers figures including glow in the dark and a chase!
• The Flintstones Family : a superb Fred Flintstones figurine in front of his house;
• Harry Potter : 2 new Harry Potter figurines including a movie moment staging the confrontation between Harry and Voldemort AND a Harry Potter POP measuring 45 cm high!
• Disney Soul : 4 figurines of the next Pixar which will be released this year;
• Dragon Ball Super: tsunami of 15 POPs of the anime Dragon Ball Super including exclusives, metallic, multipacks and glow in the dark!
• Fortnite: 7 character ads in different skins;
• The Boys: the very first action figures in the Amazon Prime Video series featuring not-so-hero heroes ;
• And also: Archie's pops, pops from the series Will & Grace, Magnum (from the series of the 80s) or Smokey and the Bandit, a Sally Face pop, figures from the movies Mighty Ducks, American College, Cobra Kai or Les Bleus (Stripes), two figures from Arthur's cartoon, a pop icon from the Ninja streamer (first time a streamer is popified ?!).

In addition to unveiling new figurines, Funko revealed new concepts and ranges of figurines. Funko has unveiled a new range : the POP Albums: figurines that represent the album of a record. The very first Funko POP! Album is Notorious B.I.G.'s "Ready to die" record!

Another surprise: transparent POPs filled with candy in the colors of the characters represented. The first heroes to be "popified" in these new formats are Marvel with Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man AND DC Comics with Batman, Joker and Wonder Woman. The first (partially) edible POPs!
