POP Bjorn Borg (Tennis Legends)

Björn Borg is one of the legends of tennis who has flown over all the competitions in the 1970s and who has contributed enormously to the popularisation of the sport by becoming a true icon. Borg was born in Sweden in 1956 and began playing tennis at the age of 9. At the time, the young boy only hit the ball against the garage door before his parents signed him up to a club!

As soon as he joined the club, the young Björn showed real talent and won his first junior tournaments at the age of 13, opening the door to the professional world. The legendary player's incredible record of 62 titles and 11 Grand Slam trophies in 10 years of top-level competition was the next step. Davis Cup, Australian Open, Roland Garros, etc. Björn Borg dominated many tournaments between 1974 and 1984.

If Borg is known for his technical tennis and clean shots including the two-handed backhand lift, he also marked the world of tennis by showing an exceptional mental attitude. Impassive in matches, showing no emotion on the courts and always remaining in a state of extreme concentration, he earned the nickname "Ice Borg", testifying to the incredible character of this player.
