POP Maria Sharapova (Tennis Legends)

Maria Sharapova is the first Russian tennis player to reach the No. 1 position in the WTA rankings (equivalent to the ATP rankings for women). At the age of 4, the young Maria was given her first tennis racket which she will never leave and will develop her full potential from the 2000s onwards to become the best Russian tennis player of all time.

Her record is incredible with 36 titles, 4 Grand Slam tournaments won in singles and an agent medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Maria Sharapova splashed the courts with her talent until she ended her career in 2020 after repeated injuries prevented her from reaching her best level again .

Maria Sharapova's style of play? An offensive, dynamic and powerful game! Known for hitting the ball very powerfully, whether it's a forehand or a backhand (the player is ambidextrous!), she knows how to get the upper hand on her opponents by pushing them back to the baseline.

Funko dedicates a beautiful tribute to this tennis legend of the 2000s with a POP in the effigy of Maria Sharapova. We find the tenniswoman in her all-white outfit: tank top, skirt, shoe and cap!

On Sharapova's figure, we can easily recognize the young woman with her resplendent face and long blond hair. In a nod to the player, Funko chose to depict her hitting the ball as she did from the baseline. So you can see on the POP that she is holding her racquet in her right hand, backwards, ready to hit the ball on the rebound!
