POP L (Death Note)

Every protagonist needs an antagonist. And, as we follow the adventures of Light, who later becomes Kira, we will find ourselves following the journey of a monster who, in any other work, would have been an antagonist and not the main character. With the narrative values of Death Note reversed, L, as Kira's antagonist, will be a new kind of vigilante, a very special one indeed.

When Interpol notices the staggering number of dead criminals in a period of only a few days, they raise the alarm and try to find out what is causing it. L, then, introduces himself to them through his faithful confessor: Watari.

Known to the whole world, L is the greatest detective in the world. Nobody knows his identity, whether it is his name, his face or even the tone of his voice. It is precisely because he is so mysterious that he will be the most formidable enemy for Kira to take down. And for good reason, without knowing the name and face of one of his victims, Light cannot use the Death Note against them.

L will become Light's nemesis, playing a dangerous game by inviting Light to be part of the investigators. By doing so, he could keep an eye on him at all times while he suspected him of being Kira, in order to discover how the latter can kill people from a distance with a heart attack.

Very efficient in his methods, eccentric in his behavior, L does not hesitate to use the strong method to advance his investigation, surrounding himself with thieves and swindlers to do so. However, he never resorts to homicide.

When the entire Japanese police force gives up the pursuit of Kira out of fear, L, in the shadows, is alone, with five members of the Japanese police, to investigate Kira. With limited means and facing an enemy whose identity and power they do not know, they will manage to perform miracles during the investigation. Miracles that will not lead to the arrest of Kira.

The Funko POP of L does not fail to restore the eccentric side of the character. We are not talking about an exuberant eccentric but, on the contrary, perfectly self-effacing. Indeed, L is a rather dull and withdrawn young man, not in the habit of sharing his identity, except with the Japanese police team that will assist him in the Kira case.

We can then find the Funko POP figure of L with all the usual features of the character. This POP figure of L presents the character in the same posture as the one where we discover him for the first time in the manga. Nonchalant, hands in pockets, bare feet, he looks like he's dressed in pajamas. He himself, indeed, looks badly awake. His dark eyes on his livid face translate an obvious lack of sleep. With his disheveled hair and his clumsy look, the Funko POP of L contrasts radically with the clean and neat appearance of his opponent and friend: Light Yagami.
