POP Kaecilius (Doctor Strange)

Kaecilius is one of the "evil" characters in Doctor Strange. A former disciple of the Ancient One, he turned from good to put his mastery of the mystical arts at the service of evil in order to become immortal.

Kaecilius was one of the most promising disciples of the Ancient One, learning quickly and demonstrating exceptional abilities. Unfortunately, the Ancient One was unable to hold him back and saw him gradually drift into evil, drawn by the possibility of becoming immortal and all-powerful. This is why she is reluctant to make Stephen Strange her disciple, fearing that the pattern will be repeated with him ...

In his pursuit of immortality, Kaecilius allies himself with the demon Dormammu. Dormammu promises him exceptional powers in exchange for Earth. Kaecilius steals a few pages of a sacred book allowing him to manipulate time, one of the most important spells... He then attacks the sanctuaries protecting the planet in order to give Dormammu free rein. It is by attacking one of the sanctuaries that Kaecilius meets and confronts Doctor Strange. Strange is only at the beginning of his apprenticeship and has the greatest difficulties to face this seasoned disciple. Kaecilius reveals to him that the Ancient One may not be so aligned with the morality she teaches, and that the Ancient One is drawing his powers by circumventing his own rules, making Strange doubtful.

While Kaecilius has killed the Ancient One after a confrontation, Dormammu rushes to Earth to take over the planet. The followers are overwhelmed and the sanctuaries ravaged. In order to defeat the demon, Strange uses a ruse that locks him in a time loop and will only agree to release Dormammu on the sole condition that he leaves Earth taking Kaecilius and his companions.

This figurine of Kaecilius is the image of the character. An older man, with long, grayish hair and a ponytail. He wears the same outfit as the other disciples or the Ancient One: a long yellow tunic, dark pants, leather belts and yellow boots.

On the POP, Kaecilius stands up straight, arms outstretched and fists closed, as if to show his determination before a fight. It is impossible not to notice the marks on his face where the outline of his eyes are burned, a symbol that he is avidly using black magic...

On this Kaecilius figurine, Funko has pushed the details with the numerous decorations on the disciple's outfit, the marks on his face and by also representing the symbol of Dormammu on Kaecilius' forehead as if it had been branded with a red-hot iron!
