POP Doctor Strange (Doctor Strange)

Stephen Strange is the hero of Marvel Doctor Strange. At the beginning of the film, he is a talented neurosurgeon who succeeds in everything but his life is turned upside down by a dramatic car accident. He loses his job, his wife and all his material possessions, sinking into a depression and a seemingly impossible obsession: total recovery.

It is while pursuing this quest that Doctor Strange goes to Nepal to meet wise mystics who would be endowed with powers that could make him heal... At first sceptical about these powers, then rejected by the master who calls himself "the Ancient One", he ends up joining the ranks of the disciples in order to learn the mastery of this discipline. Strange will eventually prove to be very gifted and will show a very fast learning curve.

At the same time, Kaecilius, a former disciple of the Ancient One, puts his plan into action: to call the demon Dormammu back so that he can take over the Earth. To do this, he attacks the three sanctuaries protecting the planet and confronts Doctor Strange in London.

Kaecilius will also confront the Ancient and wound her mortally. She asks Dr Strange to keep the disciple Mordo at her side because only the alliance of their two talents and personalities can protect the world.

It is with the help of Mordo and Wong that Doctor Strange leaves to face Dormammu. Too powerful to be defeated, Doctor Strange uses a ruse to push Dormammu into retirement. He uses Agamotto's eye, a relic that masters time, to lock him in a time loop. Each time, Dormammu kills Doctor Strange, but Doctor Strange comes back, and Dormammu kills him again, and so on and so forth. Mad with rage, Dormammu asks to be freed, which Strange accepts on the sole condition that he leaves Earth alone!

This Doctor Strange POP action figure is a nice tribute to this Marvel hero. We find Strange standing with his hand outstretched and his palm turned towards the sky as if he was reaching out to a friend. Doctor Strange is wearing his disciple's outfit: his blue tunic, leather belts, black boots but also his red levitation cape whose collar goes up to protect Strange's face.

One recognizes perfectly the features of the actor Benedict Cumberbatch who plays the role of Doctor Strange. His brown hair with small white locks on the sides of his skull, his frowning eyebrows, his perfectly shaved goatee and his sparkling eyes.

Finally, on this figurine, Doctor Strange also wears around his neck the relic of Agamotto's Eye that allows him to manipulate time and trap Dormammu in this time loop. It is only at the end of the film that Wong, the "librarian" disciple, confides to him that this relic is a stone of infinity.
