Funko has just announced the release of 5 new POP figures from the universe of Sword Art Online. There were already first figures for this collection, but Funko is back with POPs of new figures featuring the main characters: Kirito, Asuna and Leafa.
Sword Art Online (SAO) takes place in a universe of different immersion video games in 2022 where players must defeat the final boss. Among the different games SAO is the first arc, followed by Alfheim Online (ALO) and Gun Gale Online (GGO). Kirito and Asuna are the two main characters, he is quite a loner and wields swords like no other while she is considered the strongest of the Brotherhood of Knights guild. Finally, among the characters "popified" by Funko, there is also Leafa who is Kirito's companion in ALO.
This announcement will delight fans of Sword Art Online and fans of the animation since the characters are sublime and faithful to the series. Kirito is wearing his black outfit and is featured on two POPs (one of which is exclusive to FYE). The young Leafa is also perfectly recognizable with her blonde pigtails and her green and white dress. Asuna's POPs parallel those of Kirito as the first one shows Asuna in her white and red outfit, sword in hand and the second one (exclusive Box Lunch) shows her jumping like Kirito.
