Dragon Ball is a famous shonen manga written and drawn by Akira Toriyama. The mythical manga is composed of 42 volumes, released between 1984 and 1995. Dragon Ball ranks 3rd in the list of the best-selling manga of all time, with 260 million sales worldwide. It is a cult manga, known all over the world, which later inspired other legendary mangakas to make works like One Piece or Naruto. Following its huge success, this manga will be adapted into a Japanese animation series in 1989 which is divided into 2 distinct parts. The first part of the story adapts the first 16 volumes and includes 153 episodes of 25 minutes, produced by the Toei animation that we no longer present. And the second part named Dragon Ball Z adapting the last 26 tomes of 291 episodes of 25 min whose last episode will end in 1996.
The story of Dragon Ball takes place in a universe where there are conflicts mainly due to the existence of "Dragon Balls" also called "The Seven Magic Crystal Balls" that everyone covets. Indeed, they allow those who have succeeded in collecting them, to invoke the Dragon Sheron who offers to fulfill the wish of the person who is in front of him. Sheron can make all kinds of wishes come true, such as asking for immortality, being rich, etc. This is an extremely powerful power. During the first part of the story, the manga focuses on Son Goku's adventures during his childhood and his adolescence. Son Goku is a little boy naturally very gifted in martial arts and has a mysterious monkey tail. During his journey, he meets a young woman named Bulma with whom he becomes friends. They leave together in search of the famous Dragon Balls. During their journey they will meet several enemies with the same objective but also several people who will become later, very good friends. Then, in the second part taking place 5 years after the marriage of Goku and Chichi who have now become parents of a little boy named Son Gohan. Son Goku learns from his biological brother that he is from a race of mysterious and fearsome warriors coming from another planet and that his initial objective was to conquer the Earth upon his arrival. Nevertheless he will not be of this opinion. Indeed, Son Goku during all his adventure will not cease to defend his beloved planet where he grew up and met his wife and friends, facing enemies always more formidable.

The first figurine of the collection came out in January 2014, it was the one of Goku while the last figurine put on sale by Funko for this series is Guldo (which came out in December 2023).
