POP Emily (Corpse Bride)

Emiliy is one of the main characters in the animated film Corpse Bride directed by Tim Burton. The story, set in Victorian times, traces the "accidental" marriage of Emiliy, a young dead woman, and Victor, a young man alive and well.

To understand what happened, we have to go back in time, when Emily was still alive. As a young girl from a well-to-do family, she is in love with a young man and wants to marry him against her family's wishes. She runs away to follow his love, but he reveals his true face when he realizes that he will not receive the precious dowry. Instead of marrying Emily, he murders her... The young woman joins the realm of the dead, vowing to find true love one day and take revenge on her killer.

For his part, Victor has just lived a terrible day going from disaster to disaster during the rehearsals of his marriage with Victoria. He flees into the forest to repeat his vows and as he passes the ring over a piece of wood to simulate the finger of his bride, he sees Emily appear and understands that he married her by mistake?

Emily finally sees her revenge at last, marrying a young man from a good family with whom she shares many things, including her gentle and sincere character and a passion for music, especially the piano.

Nevertheless, she is heartbroken again when she realizes that Victor did not consciously and voluntarily marry her. She understands that he was promised to another and must resolve to let him go to live his love. Her decision is made easier when she realizes that, following Victor's disappearance, Victoria is now promised to another man and that this man is Lord Varis, her assassin. Emily then releases Victor from his vows so that he can return to the world of the living and marry Victoria.

The young woman with a blue complexion and long blue hair has a half skeletal appearance, especially with the details on one of her arms, one of her legs and on her cheek.

Dressed for her wedding on this figurine, Emily is therefore dressed in her long dress with embroidered motifs, she is wearing a veil in her hair and holds her bouquet of blue flowers in her hand. She wears a broad smile with her lips made up in purple, ready to say "yes" to Victor.
