POP Rio (La Casa de Papel)

Rio, whose real name is Aníbal Cortes, is one of the members of the group that is preparing to rob the national mint and stamp factory with the intention of printing and stealing 2.4 billion euros in the La Casa de Papel series.

Rio is a young man who was recruited by the Professor for his hacking skills. Rio is indeed wanted (without being unmasked) by the police following various computer attacks that he orchestrated.

If he was recruited for his very particular expertise, Rio has a profile a little different from the other robbers making him the weak link of the group. He is younger, has never committed a "real" robbery and has family ties since he is always in contact with his family. All in all, if the other members of Casa de Papel have little or nothing to lose, it's totally different for Rio.

His adventure is going to be a little more emotionally complicated since Rio is going to start a love affair with Tokyo, breaking the rule set by the Professor concerning the prohibition to establish a sentimental relationship between the members of the group. A few days before the attack on the factory, Rio will propose to Tokyo as if to seal their relationship in the face of the stranger who appears before them.

Funko reveals here a figure of Rio in the same line as all the other POPs of the Casa de Papel since we find the character in his robber's outfit with his red overalls and black rangers. One can easily recognize the young face of Rio and his attitude showing a reserved and less mature behaviour: he stands upright, hands in the pockets and his hood half raised on his head. Even though he wears the same outfit as the other robbers, his style gives him a youthful look that reflects his position as the weakest link in the team.
