POP Chip (Beauty and The Beast)

Zip is the little chipped mug in the cartoon The Beauty and the Beast, the thirtieth great Disney studio classic. It is one of the enchanted objects of the castle of the Beast. At the beginning of the film, one winter evening, the prince of the castle, handsome, proud and selfish, refuses hospitality to an old woman who has come to seek shelter in exchange for a rose. This old woman is in fact an enchanting creature who turns the young prince into a monstrous creature. She also casts a spell on the castle and all its inhabitants. This is how Zip, the housekeeper's little boy, turns into a teapot and a cup. Zip stands out from his siblings because of his mischievousness and good humour.

When Belle's father Maurice takes refuge in the Beast's castle, Zip serves her tea. He laughs when the old man's moustache tickles him. When Belle arrives at the castle to rescue her father, he rejoices and rushes to bring the good news to her mother. Mrs. Potts tells him that she hates lies and asks him to go to her bath. Plumette confirms the words of the young boy, who then says "you see, it's all right". His childlike and innocent character makes him a very touching and endearing character.
