POP Simba with Grub (The Lion King)

Simba is the main character in the Disney cartoon The Lion King. At the beginning of the animated film, with "The Story of Life" as musical background, Rafiki, the wise man of the savannah, baptizes the newborn Simba, future king of the Land of Lions. The mandrill carries Simba at arm's length with his mark on his forehead to introduce him to all the animals of the savannah. When Simba grows up, he becomes very restless and thinks that everything is allowed to him, as a prince and future king. All he thinks about is having fun and looking for thrills. Taking advantage of Simba's naivety, his uncle Scar tells him about the elephant graveyard and manipulates him into going there, although access to this place, considered too dangerous, is strictly forbidden to him by his father Mufasa. After getting rid of Zazu, Simba and Nala find themselves ambushed by Scar's hyenas. Mufasa's intervention saves the two young lions. After this episode, Mufasa preaches to his son, but he quickly forgets his anger and offers Simba a tender moment of complicity. Simba has a strong relationship with his father based on love and admiration. Mufasa is a model for his son, he teaches him how to hunt and instills in him the principles that he himself received from his father. This relationship comes to a tragic end when, trapped by Scar, Mufasa goes to the rescue of Simba who finds himself in the middle of the wildebeest that are rushing down the gorge. In this scene, betrayed by his brother Scar, Mufasa is thrown into the void and dies. Scar then convinces Simba that he is responsible for his father's death and incites her to leave the Land of the Lions. So young Simba runs away and collapses exhausted in the desert on the edge of Lionland. There he met the duo Timon and Pumbaa who became his surrogate parents. They teach him the life of Hakuna Matata, "without any worries" and introduce him to their diet of larvae and insects.

In this Pop! figurine, Funko depicts young Simba being introduced to the "slightly slimy but appetizing" diet of his new friends Timon and Pumbaa. He is sitting and holds in one leg a big red worm that he is supposed to eat. The expression of disgust on his face shows that he doesn't really like the idea: indeed, you can see that his mouth is open, his eyebrows and ears are flattened, accentuating the effect of disgust. We also find his yellow-orange fur with his tail towards the back and his little hair puff on his head that makes this figurine so cute.
