POP Mr. Clarke (SDCC) (Stranger Things)

Mr. Clarke is a science teacher at Hawkins College, the small town where the episodes of the television series Stranger Things are set. The main plot of the series is the disappearance of a young boy, Will, and the appearance of strange phenomena that will disrupt the daily lives of the town's inhabitants.

Mr. Clarke appears to be a sympathetic teacher. He befriends Will's little band of boys, probably finding himself a little inside of them. Indeed, Will, Mike, Lucas and Dustin are four young boys who could be considered "losers". They lock themselves into geeky games and make fun of the other kids.

Mr. Clarke likes them and allows them to participate in the creation of an amateur radio station that will prove useful in finding Will. He also unknowingly plays an important role by naively answering the young boys' questions. Without knowing it, he gives them useful scientific information that the children use to try to find their friend and defeat Demogorgon.

Funko pays a nice tribute to the series with this Stranger Things figurine by Mr Clarke representing an important scene from the first season. We find the teacher in his almost usual outfit although he is dressed for the funeral of young Will... Indeed, he wears rather dark clothes and in a rather "old fashioned" style: suit, wool vest and brown shoes.

On the figurine, he is holding a cardboard plate in his hand on which he has drawn a line representing our space-time. He explains to the young boys the definition of infinite universes via the acrobat's fable and the chip, which allows the boys to understand that Will is probably in a parallel universe: the reverse side. Mr. Clarke also reveals to them at this moment that the only way to access this space is through an energy portal, but that this would destabilize the electromagnetic order. It is thanks to their compasses that Mike, Lucas and Dustin will go back to the source: Hawkins National Laboratory!

On this POP of Mr. Clarke, we recognize the features of the professor with his brown hair flattened, his "nice" face and his small well trimmed mustache. His attitude and gestures show the pedagogy he shows when he explains scientific phenomena to his students.
