POP The Kraken (Supersized) (Public Domain)

The Kraken is a creature from Scandinavian legends. Haunting the seas, the Kraken is a huge sea monster that carries ships to the bottom of the water with its long tentacles. With the physique of an octopus or a giant squid, the kraken is imagined to be about 15 metres long and to live in the depths of the sea.

This character from tales and legends is mentioned in many books and creatures relatively close to him remind us of the monster, notably in the worlds of Lord of the Rings (the water watcher), Game of Thrones where a similar creature is the emblem of the house of Greyjoy or Harry Potter (the giant squid).

The Kraken POP miniature is the first supersized POP! Myths conferring a special status to the creature. We find the monster with a look that varies between the squid and the octopus. Funko chose to represent the Kraken with a bright blue color and notes of purple.

On the POP figure of the Kraken, the creature looks a bit jaded with its gaze in the void. You can notice the details on its shiny skin and its little legs.

As a nod to the many Scandinavian legends and seafaring stories, the Kraken holds one of its tentacles a ship that looks tiny next to the monster!
