POP Jackalope (Public Domain)

The Jackalope is a creature from American folklore, most likely brought by migrants from Central Europe. This animal, between the hare and the antelope, is often represented as a hare carrying antlers on its head. Reputed to be difficult to observe and capture, except to seduce it with a whisky according to certain legends!

Having become more than a symbol in some North American states, it is not uncommon to come across statues bearing its effigy in the streets, particularly in Wyoming where the Lottery has chosen the animal as its logo.

Among the particularities of the Jackalope, it would be able to imitate the voice of men. Thus, legends say that jackalope have taken the songs of certain cowboys of the Far West to heart!

The Jackalope joins the collection of creatures from the POP Myths and Legends! Myths. The nice look of this hare makes the figurine very beautiful. We find a rabbit with brown and white fur with huge woods on the top of the skull.

On the POP, the Jackalope is sitting on his hindquarters and staring straight ahead. His muzzle is pink and he has small spots on his face reminding us of the shy and wild character of this animal whose real existence is still subject to debate!
