POP Ares (Wonder Woman)

Ares is the god of war and the main antagonist in DC's Wonder Woman. Convinced that Zeus is wrong, he wants to attack God's favorite creation by forcing men to reveal their darkest part and destroy themselves. It is to prevent him from doing so that Zeus sent the Amazons to Earth and more specifically Diana, the only one capable of defeating Ares...

When Diana, a.k.a. Wonder Woman, learns that a world conflict has already claimed millions of lives, she immediately recognizes Ares's work and throws herself after him. Convinced that she has identified him as the German General Ludendorff, Diana kills him using the "God-killing" sword. Nevertheless, Ludendorff's death does not stop the war and Wonder Woman understands that she was mistaken...

Ares is in fact in the form of another man, an Englishman close to the allied staff: Sir Patrick Morgan. The latter reveals to him that he has simply blown the inspiration of a devastating mustard gas to the Germans and tries to convince Diana that the men have done the rest and that they don't deserve to live. Wonder Woman refuses and tries to confront Ares, but the latter is much more powerful than her. He destroys his magic lasso and even his "God-killing" sword in a split second.

It will take an incredible energy to Wonder Woman to overcome Ares, she draws it deep inside her when she understands that Steve Trevor, the soldier she fell in love with, has just made the ultimate sacrifice by blowing up the plane he is in to protect the population from a bombing...

Funko presents the POP figure of Ares in the physical form that the god of war takes during his final confrontation: an armor made of different pieces of metal from the battlefield and reconstituting an outfit inspired by Greek mythology.

Ares therefore wears a blade skirt, sandals and an armor articulated in different parts. He has an imposing helmet with different horns on the top of the skull and the sides, giving him a bellicose appearance.

The POP d'Ares shows him in a fixed attitude where he clenches his fists firmly and on which it is difficult to catch a glimpse of Sir Patrick Morgan's gaze.
