POP Hyenas Banzai Shenzi & Ed (The Lion King)

Banzai, Shenzi and Ed are the three famous hyenas from the Disney cartoon The Lion King. They are under the orders of Scar, the brother of Mufasa, king of the savannah. The hyenas live in the elephant graveyard, they are sadistic and have a demonic laugh. Banzai and Ed often quarrel. Shenzi is a female and is the leader of the trio. Ed is the dumbest of the gang: he doesn't speak, we only hear his hysterical laugh and some onomatopoeia. Hyenas are stupid and aggressive and have an unlimited hatred towards all lions, except Scar who promises them food for life. Scar, jealous of his brother, covets the throne and will do anything to eliminate him. Indeed, he lays a trap for Simba by asking her to wait for her father in the gorge for an alleged surprise. The trio of hyenas, on Scar's orders, attack a herd of wildebeest that run at full speed down the gorge where young Simba is. Simba is trapped. Mufasa, warned by Scar, comes to his rescue, but betrayed by his brother who was waiting for him at the top of the cliff, he falls into the void and dies. Scar takes power and surrounds himself with hyenas to form his army. The three hyenas become the leaders of this army.

On this Pop figurine, we find the trio of hyenas with grey skin spotted with black with very expressive faces. Banzai is represented with a smile showing his teeth and a raised eyebrow that makes him look malicious. Shenzi has a large tuft of hair on his head and an entirely black muzzle unlike the other two companions who have a black muzzle surrounded by grey. She is depicted grunting with her eyes half closed giving her a very aggressive look. And finally, Ed with his inexpressive look and his tongue hanging out of his mouth, making him look like the stupidest of the trio.
