Funko is opening up a brand-new license: Witch Watch is joining the catalogue with six releases announced for October 2026. These are the very first POP figures based on Kenta Shinohara’s manga, and only one figure in the wave comes with a one-in-six Chase.
A young license getting figures early
Witch Watch has been published in Weekly Shōnen Jump since February 2021. Its creator, Kenta Shinohara, is no newcomer: he is also responsible for Sket Dance and Astra Lost in Space.
The anime did the rest. Twenty-five episodes aired from April to October 2025 at Bibury Animation Studios, available on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with a second season announced immediately after the finale. No date has been confirmed for the sequel yet, although estimates currently point to around 2027.
Funko is therefore releasing its first wave in the gap between seasons, one year after season 1 ended and probably one year before the next one begins. It is a classic time to launch a license, but because the series is still relatively new, all six releases focus on the core cast.
Nico Wakatsuki – POP #2538, the only one with a Chase
The heroine, naturally. Nico is the “Millennium Witch”, a magical phenomenon that appears only once every thousand years, combined with an impressive ability to never anticipate the consequences of her spells. The entire series is built around the contrast between her overwhelming power and the domestic disasters it causes.
She is also the only figure in the wave to come with a Chase, at a one-in-six ratio. Funko has not yet revealed how it differs from the standard version. Expect prices from €14.90 for the regular release; the Chase still has no price listed by French retailers.
Morihito Otogi – POP #2539, the oni assigned to protect her
The other half of the duo. Morihito is an oni, essentially raw physical strength packed into the body of a serious high-school student, and he has served as Nico’s familiar since childhood. His family has fulfilled this role for hers for generations.
A large part of the series’ comedy comes from him: he spends his time limiting the damage caused by a witch who is in love with him, while a poorly controlled spell prevents him from seeing her as anything more than a friend. Prices start at €14.11.
Kanshi, Keigo and Nemu complete the household
- Kanshi Kazamatsuri – POP #2540: a tengu who controls the wind, Nico’s second familiar and, incidentally, the only member of the group who speaks in a Kansai dialect. That nuance is obviously lost in the French version, but it defines much of his personality in the original.
- Keigo Magami – POP #2541: a werewolf whose transformation is not triggered by the full moon, but by seeing a crescent shape. The kind of absurd joke that sums up the tone of the series quite well.
- Nemu Miyao – POP #2542: a transformation witch capable of turning into a black cat, and the shyest member of the group.
These three figures are available for between €14.11 and €15.99 on pre-order.
A first wave that gets the essentials right
Six figures for a license that previously had none, featuring the central duo, the two familiars and the second witch. Funko has not left out anything essential and has not diluted the wave with minor supporting characters.
For collectors, the appeal of a first wave is always the same: these are the figures everyone will want in two years, once the license has grown with season 2. Nico and her Chase are naturally the top priority. Pre-orders are open, with release scheduled for October 2026.
