Who has never seen Cool Runnings? And above all, who hasn't had a huge laugh in front of this extraordinary Olympic team and this crazy idea of a Jamaican bobsleigh team? You will have recognized the synopsis of this movie released in the 90s and which regularly appears on the screens.
Cool Runnings retraces the journey of Derice Bannock, a Jamaican athlete who dreams of winning a medal at the Olympics. Unfortunately, his dream is shattered when a competitor knocks him down in the selection trials. He then turns to a surprising alternative: to create a bobsleigh team and qualify it for the games... To do this, he can rely on the help of a former pro of the discipline, Irving Blitzer, who has become a grumpy horse bettor. The rest of the story is the situation comedy in each scene although the end of the film remains very moving!
Funko pays a nice tribute to this Disney studios movie with the two colorful characters: Sanka Coffie, one of the team members who proudly wears the Jamaican outfit on the POP (flocked with the Adidas logo) and coach Irving Blitzer warmly with his hands in his pockets and his hat (also in Jamaican colors) screwed on his head. A very successful wink to a very good comedy!
