The very first POP Comic Covers for Action Comics and Superman

This is the last announcement of the Funko Fair 2021, and what an announcement! A great POP AND a brand new category of POP: comic book covers. Funko seems to have reproduced the idea of POP Albums for comics and... WE LOVE !

For this premiere, we needed a superhero to match the event and Funko set its sights on Superman. So the very first issue of Action Comics, released in April 1938 and in which Superman appeared, was chosen to inaugurate this new type of POP.

In this first issue, we discover an alien from a planet called Krypton, who hides his identity under the name of Clark Kent, a journalist at the Daily Planet in Metropolis. The cover of the comic book is iconic: Superman stopping a car in mid-flight so that it doesn't crash into a man.

This POP is sure to be one of the highlights for Superman fans. We discover the hero with his easily recognizable physique with his wick on his forehead, his red cape and his "S" on his chest BUT this is the original Superman costume that was represented on this figurine. Indeed, by looking more closely, you will discover the small differences compared to the costume of the "modern" Superman.

So the POP Comic Covers look very very promising and we can't wait to know what will be the second comic chosen by Funko for the next POP! An idea?
