Tennis, basketball or soccer (football) were the focus of many revelations at the New York Toy Fair with some very nice surprises.
Let's start with the very first POPs from the world of tennis. No less than 8 players were "popified". Among them are tennis legends but also the players who dominate the tournaments at the moment. You will find : Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, Bjorn Borg, Nick Kyrgios, Roger Federer, Amanda Anisimova and John McEnroe!
As for the NBA stars, 6 players are joining the already numerous NBA POPs: Gary Payton (Sonics), Shawn Kemp (Sonics), Penny Hardaway (Magic), Shaquille O'Neal (Magic), Larry Bird (Cletics) and Magic Johnson (Lakers).
Finally, Funko pays a beautiful tribute to women's sports by revealing figurines of professional women players from the world of football. The collection was until now well filled by stars from the big European clubs but now you 5 players from the US national team. A nice announcement a few months before the Tokyo Olympics! Among the stars selected, you will find Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe (2 pop), Julie Ertz and Carli Lloyd.
