New wave of POPs for the cult series Friends

The Friends series is one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time, driven by hilarious characters and top-notch acting. Having conquered millions of viewers worldwide (since its very first broadcast in 1994), it's naturally one of the heavyweights for collectors of Funko POPs from TV series. And to our delight, Funko has just announced a new wave of Friends POPs!

Who hasn't spent hours laughing at the adventures (or often misadventures) of the merry band living in the middle of New York: Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow)? As a tribute to all these wonderful memories, Funko has just unveiled a new set of figurines featuring the characters in scenes that have become cult favorites.

For the occasion, Funko is offering a total of 7 POPs (6 to be precise and one POP Chase), each featuring one of the series' iconic characters:

We start with the POP figure of Joey proudly holding his pizza, a symbol of the passion he has for this dish despite having been banned from the group for ordering a Hawaiian pizza one day. Whatever the case, pizza and Joey are a solidly loving relationship (the most serious of his relationships, in fact?) and it's a perfect tribute to the character that Funko is making, not forgetting to mention his particularly... ugly outfit!

The second POP unveiled is that of Chandler rediscovering New York's tourist spots and marveling at every little detail, a figure that perfectly captures the character's hilarious side, with Chandler wearing a Statue of Liberty crown, an "I love NY" T-shirt and a bag full of trinkets emblazoned with the American flag.

For Phoebe, Funko focused on the end of the second season, when she catches chickenpox. Funko captured the moment when she reunites with one of her lovers and the two of them do everything in their power not to get itchy, going so far as to put on oven mitts to mask their hands.

On Ross's side, Funko chose one of the most hilarious moments of any season. The episode whose name speaks for itself: "When Ross buys leather pants". Ross falls in love with this fashion (which his friends think is old-fashioned) and goes on a date wearing leather pants. Problem: he's hot, the pants shrink in the heat and he can't get them on, despite numerous stratagems: talcum powder, cream, etc. Funko has immortalized him with his pants down, his face covered in talcum powder and his phone in his hand as he calls for help!

Monica is available in a POP version in both normal and Chase (for the lucky ones), with the young woman as a waitress at the Moondance Diner. For the Chase version, Monica is shown with her blonde wig, giving her an even more '50s look.

Finally, the last POP is of course Rachel's, and here again Funko has focused on one of the series' great moments, since the figurine represents the young woman in her wedding dress as we discover her in the very first episode of Friends. It's certainly one of the most memorable scenes, since it's the first and the one in which the little group forms for the first time, meeting at Central Perk.

It's a no-brainer for Funko, who chose to immortalize 6 of the series' most memorable moments over the seasons. For each character, the POP is faithful to the scene and inevitably brings back excellent memories. Mission accomplished for this new wave of Funko POP Friends!

Don't wait any longer, the new 2023 POP Friends are already available and are sure to be one of the best gifts for fans of the series at the end of the year, especially as the last POP Friends dated back to 2020... an eternity for fans like us!
