Kevin Durant, Austin Reaves, Tyrese Maxey, Cooper Flagg and Cade Cunningham are arriving in December 2026. But the official names of these five releases do not stop at the player's name: each one specifies the exact jersey, using the NBA's official designation. And that changes the way they are collected.
Five jerseys, five official designations
Funko no longer names its NBA figures using only the player's name. Each release now includes the full jersey edition in its official title, following the league's own terminology.
Three of those editions appear in this wave:
- Association Edition, the white jersey, historically associated with home games. This is the version worn by Cooper Flagg and Cade Cunningham.
- Icon Edition, built around the franchise's primary color. Red for Kevin Durant, yellow for Austin Reaves.
- Statement Edition, the alternate jersey, with more freedom in its design. Tyrese Maxey's version comes in black.
For a sports license, that level of detail is not merely decorative. A player can have several figures under the same name, and the jersey may be the only thing distinguishing them. Funko is therefore documenting seasons as much as players.
Cooper Flagg, first figure and Rookie of the Year
The most anticipated release in the wave, for one simple reason: it is his first.
The first overall pick in the 2025 draft, Cooper Flagg finished his debut season with the Dallas Mavericks by winning the 2025-26 Rookie of the Year award. One year later, he is entering the Funko catalog in the white Association Edition jersey.
For a collector, this is the equivalent of a rookie card. A player's first figure only happens once, and this one arrives immediately after the season that established him among the league's top young stars. These are exactly the kinds of releases whose value can rise if the player's career lives up to expectations.
Kevin Durant in Houston red
Proof that these figures are deliberately tied to a specific moment in time.
Durant is the only veteran in the wave, and Funko is not releasing him as a career tribute. No Thunder jersey from the years when he became a superstar, no Warriors jersey from his championship runs, no Suns version. Instead, he arrives in a Red Icon Edition Jersey, meaning the colors of the Houston Rockets, his current team.
The choice says something about the approach. A Funko NBA figure is not a monument to a player's career; it is a snapshot. Three years from now, this one will document a specific period of Durant's career, just as his POP figures in Suns jerseys document the previous one.
Reaves, Maxey and Cunningham complete the wave
The other three releases share a similar profile: established but still young players who sit at the heart of their respective franchises.
- Austin Reaves – POP #238: the Laker in the yellow Icon Edition jersey, who went from undrafted player to key contributor in just a few seasons.
- Tyrese Maxey – POP #239: the Philadelphia 76ers guard in the black Statement Edition jersey, and the only figure in the wave wearing an alternate uniform.
- Cade Cunningham – POP #244: the first overall pick in the 2021 draft, now the face of the Detroit Pistons, in the white Association Edition jersey.
No retired players, no legends from the 1990s. The entire wave is focused on the league as it exists right now.
What to look for
Cooper Flagg, without hesitation. A first figure, a newly won Rookie of the Year award, and a player whose trajectory could increase the figure's appeal if his career continues on its current path: all three factors are in place.
Durant in a Rockets jersey comes next, for a different reason. Figures of players who move between franchises become markers of specific periods, and those representing teams where they only spend a few seasons are often the hardest to find later on. Pre-orders are open, with the release scheduled for December 2026.
