Funkon 2022 Convention: all announcements
For the second year in a row, Funko is organizing its own convention called "Funkon". Initiated due to the cancellation of the convention during the Covid confinements, it seems that Funko is determined to maintain this annual event from now on, for our greatest pleasure.
Of course, Funkon II is still a "small" event with only a few exclusive POP figures, but it is still an opportunity to discover some exceptional POPs that Funko had reserved for the convention. This year, only 4 POPs will have the "Funkon 2022 Limited Edition" sticker.
Among the announcements, we find :
- Shredder in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers set, a POP where the super "villain" enemy of the Ninja Turtles wears a much more colorful armor than usual. Note: this POP is a POP Retro Toys.
- The POP Deluxe of Ollivanders, the magic wands store in Harry Potter where we discover Garrick Ollivander in front of his store. A great news for the Harry Potter fans since Funko continues the set of the stores of Diagon Alley. Moreover, Funko has also recently unveiled a similar set (Deluxe) dedicated to Hogsmeade, the village next to Hogwarts. So if you collect Harry Potter POPs, you'll soon be able to collect a lot of the iconic places of the saga!
- A Scented POP of Lemonhead, the mascot of the lemon candy brand Lemonhead. The mascot is a little boy whose face shape reproduces that of a lemon. Really curious to see if the POP smells like lemon?
- Finally, the last revelation of the Funkon II Convention is from POP Animation with a new figure for the Demon Slayer license. And it is even a character that was not yet available in POP: Muichiro Tokito.
