Head for Kanto with a touch of nostalgia in this new POP Deluxe Moment Pokémon, featuring the starters we all had to start our adventures with!
You've inevitably been faced with the dilemma of choosing your starter, wondering what to do next depending on the type of Pokémon you've chosen. Don't worry, with this new POP, Funko lets you keep all 3 on your team!
Funko unveils a centerpiece for your Pokémon POP collection
Funko transports us to Professor Oak's laboratory, an iconic location from the first Pokémon games where we learned more about the little creatures.
For this POP Deluxe Moment, Funko chose to capture the fateful moment when we had to choose our "starter" from among the 3 pokémon, and 3 types of pokémon on offer.
Naturally, if the setting is perfect (the books, the computer, the paintings, etc.), the figurines of the three Pokémon are also very faithful; they correspond to the "original" POPs of these Pokémon and give a good glimpse of the personalities of each one.
So, from left to right, we find Bulbizarre with his unwavering gaze, Salamèche and his fiery attitude right down to the tip of his tail, then Carapuce with his shy look.
If you want to immortalize the moment it all began in your collection, this is definitely one of the Funko POPs you'll need...
It all began in 1996
As with other POP Deluxe Moments (which tend to be more film-based), Funko has inscribed the game "title" and the year. The figure's base proudly bears the words "Pokémon 1996".
It was indeed 28 years ago that the world (or at least the Japanese) discovered the license with the first Gameboy games... Since then, the license has come a long way and become one of the most popular in the world.
We can imagine that, as we approach its 30th anniversary, Funko has plenty of surprises in store for us, with figurines to add to our Pokémon POP collection!
