New POP! Ad Icons has made its entrance with a brand that has been widely hijacked on the internet: Spam. Initially a can of meat, such as ground ham, canned. Do you know where the name of the brand comes from? It is the contraction of "Spiced Ham".
If today, the word SPAM is more related to unwanted emails than to the food brand, it's partly because of a Monty Python sketch where the can of cosnerve is put in all the dishes to the point of "polluting" the menu. It stayed and the too many emails that pollute our mailbox became spam!
With this Spam POP, Funko is attacking a classic brand that is a nice nod to the internet generation as well.
