The adorable little cat is turning 50, and we're going to be seeing him everywhere! From McDonalds menus to cuddly toys, from mobile applications dedicated to this anniversary to, of course, Funko POP "50 Years Special"!
While Hello Kitty (and her companions) are already available in Funko POP, the figurine brand has just unveiled the (first?) POPs of a set to celebrate the 5 decades.
As a reminder, Hello Kitty will turn 50 on November 1, 2024, so there are still a few months left to discover more surprises...
4 POP figures for the Hello Kitty 50th anniversary set
To celebrate this anniversary, Funko has unveiled 4 new Hello Kitty POP figures:
- Funko POP #75 of Hello Kitty with a "50" barrette on her head and posing in front of her birthday cake;
- Funko POP #76 of Hello Kitty holding a balloon (also kawaii), wearing a birthday hat and still wearing the little barrette;
- Funko POP #77 of Hello Kitty holding a present in her hand, and still in birthday style with barrette and hat - in Diamond Glitter version;
- Funko POP #79 is much more classic, with its blue overalls, red ribbon over the ear and piercing black eyes. But the originality of this POP comes from its size, as it's a 25cm Supersized!
Hello Kitty, Funko POP star
Despite this new announcement, Hello Kitty was already well represented in Funko POP. From the little kawaii cat to his companions, the "Sanrio" set included over 80 figures in all.
Indeed, Hello Kitty's influence is such that Funko regularly collaborates with Sanrio to offer new POPs. Whether it's adapting Hello Kitty for the Olympic Games, or crossing licenses like when Hello Kitty characters dressed up as Naruto ninjas or My Hero Academia students, Funko and Sanrio have a lot of fun bringing the little characters to life in POP.
So it was unthinkable that there wouldn't be a Funko POP for Hello Kitty's birthday!
