In total, 456 candidates are enrolled in this mysterious competition. If some games are worthy of children's games, the outcome is always fatal. It is this contrast of "child's play" and ultra violence that is particularly brutal. Adding to the mystery, the competition is organized by a sinister organization whose members wear red suits and black masks with geometric shapes (triangle, circle, square).
Behind this violence, the plot, which mixes satire and melodrama, is also an allegory, using its themes and characters to show the impact of capitalism on modern society... This clever mix is in any case a guarantee of success since Squid Game had the best launch of all the series on Netflix and is currently ranked as the most viewed series in over 90 countries!
In total, there are 8 POP figures that Funko has unveiled for the very first POP of Squid Game. There are 5 of the main characters and also 3 figures of the red soldiers. On the side of the "popified" characters :
- Abdul Ali (number 199) fled Pakistan with his wife and son. As a refugee in South Korea, he was scammed by a crooked employer who exploited him without paying him.
