Netflix dropped all ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on October 20. Funko opened pre-orders for its Pops the next day. If you remember how long David and Lucy waited for theirs, the turnaround is surprising. So is the selection: Funko picked the four faces from the poster without waiting to see which ones fans would latch onto, and left out the one the whole season revolves around.
Season 1 waited almost four years for its Pops
The first season, made by Studio Trigger for CD Projekt Red, hit Netflix on September 13, 2022. It revived sales of a game that had launched two years earlier in the state everyone remembers, and became the benchmark for the franchise. Even so, Funko waited until July 2026 to release David Martinez, Lucy and Rebecca as Pops #2413 to #2417, almost four years after the show aired. The game had its figures before it even launched: V, Takemura and Johnny Silverhand back in 2020, as #588 to #592.
For the follow-up, the schedule flips. Kai Ikarashi's ten episodes dropped all at once on October 20, and the Funko wave was revealed right after, with a December release. Early reviews, published the day before, describe a darker, more grown-up season than the first, and Mashable calls it a love letter to filmmaking. Funko didn't wait for the audience's verdict to pick its characters.
Four characters with nothing in common
Season 2 leaves David and Lucy behind and starts over with a new crew, which Funko takes as is.
- Weak – Pop #2596: Weak Kingsley, whom everyone calls King. A former top-tier merc, he lost his high-end chrome and gets by on cheap prosthetics, hence the figure's red mechanical arm. He is the only one in the wave with a Chase, at the usual 1-in-6 odds.
- D. – Pop #2597: a Snake Nation netrunner on a revenge campaign against Arasaka after his clan's massacre. He is the one who lets Capri into his system.
- Roman – Pop #2598: a would-be director who prefers film to braindances, those recorded memories you relive from the inside. The irony of the first episode: the shootout he films ends up sold to a braindance dealer.
- Talia – Pop #2599: the daughter of Avida, King's ex, and the most heavily chromed of the four. Kang Tao targets her as soon as she crosses paths with the group.
Avida herself follows as Pop #2600, exclusive to the brand's online store. Talia's mother and King's ex, she is the link between two characters the wave sells separately.
The one living in D.'s head is missing
I'm taking Weak. Recaps and the people close to him call him King, Funko prints his first name on the box, and that name fits a man who lost everything that made him strong. The figure captures the fall rather than the legend, with a flashy replacement arm that tells you at a glance where he has been. Roman is the heart of the season, and critics are right to say so. As a Pop, he is still a teenager holding a device. Weak tells you more.
The gap is obvious from episode two on: Capri. This Arasaka engram, stored on the datashard everyone is fighting over, settles into D.'s system and then tries to make Talia her host. The whole plot runs through her, and the wave sells the two bodies she occupies without selling her. A translucent or glow-in-the-dark Capri was the obvious move, and Funko knows how to do it: the Chase of David with the Yukimura glows in the dark.
All four figures are up for pre-order, with release expected in December 2026.
