The festive season is always a special time of year, and Funko usually puts some of its figures in Christmas colors. This is notably the case with Marvel characters wearing ugly sweaters, DC superheroes in Santa Claus versions, and so on. This year, Funko is breaking new ground by offering chocolate versions of its major license figurines, which are just as ideal for Christmas as they are for Valentine's Day!
Let's delve into the biggest licenses to discover these chocolate variants. Each character/superhero is faithfully reproduced in the form of a chocolate mold. The result is astonishing: you'd think you were looking at real chocolate casts of the most popular characters.
For the moment, Funko has unveiled two figures per license, but perhaps some exclusives will complete the range:
- On the Disney side, Mickey and Minnie are the obvious choice.
- For Star Wars, the POPs are ideal for Valentine's Day (note this if you want to please a Star Wars x Funko fan), as they feature Han Solo and Princess Leia in pink boxes.
- Funko also takes us to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with chocolate variants of Donatello and Michelangelo - we can expect to see the last two characters soon!
- Next, we're off to Marvel with Captain America and Spider-Man, who have been chosen for these variations that look like unwrapped chocolate mouldings.
- Of course, DC is also in the spotlight with Batman and Wonder Woman, whose heads have been sketched.
- Finally, the last two figurines feature Jack and Sally from Mr. Jack's A Christmas Carol, a must-have for the holiday season.
Gourmandise and Funko go hand in hand, as the chocolate versions of these figurines are really great successes.
