Five figures have been announced for December 2026, including a Chase hidden behind an exclusive. And the timing leaves no room for doubt: the anime returned four days ago, after a break that was starting to feel permanent. All five releases come directly from what the series is covering right now.
The anime returned on October 3, after five and a half years
On March 30, 2021, Black Clover aired episode 170 and stopped abruptly, right in the middle of the Spade Kingdom buildup. Manga readers knew what came next. Anime viewers were left waiting.
On October 3, 2026, more than five and a half years later, episode 171 arrived under the title “War Begins.” Studio Pierrot resumed production, Ayataka Tanemura returned as director, and worldwide distribution moved through Crunchyroll. The synopsis of the first episode sets the stage: the Magic Knights prepare to rescue Yami and the captains kidnapped by the Dark Triad, Asta finishes training with Liebe to master Devil Union, and Yuno trains to defeat Zenon.
Keep those three elements in mind. They are the figures.
All five releases come from the same arc
The trailer for the new season highlights Asta's training with Liebe, Nacht's devil fusion and Yuno's counterattack alongside the Magic Knights. Funko is releasing the five corresponding pieces.
- Yuno with Sylph – POP #2617: a Pop! & Buddy, meaning the figure comes with his wind spirit. It is the right format choice: Yuno alone is just a boy with a grimoire; Sylph is what makes him instantly recognizable. The two have been inseparable since the spirit bonded with him.
- Dante – POP #2618: the ruler of the Spade Kingdom, with Funko specifying the version: Devil Form. Not the leader in ceremonial clothing, but the head of the Dark Triad under the influence of the devil he hosts. He is the wall the entire arc is about to hit.
- Nacht – POP #2619: the vice-captain of the Black Bulls, exactly as the official listing describes him. He is the one who teaches Asta to unite with his devil rather than fight him, and therefore the character without whom nothing Asta does in this arc would exist.
Two Asta figures in the same wave, and that is the whole point of the arc
The most interesting choice in the announcement, and one that has to be read beyond the names.
The wave includes two Asta figures. The first is Asta with Devil Arm: the demonic arm, in other words what appears when Asta draws on Liebe, the devil sealed inside his five-leaf grimoire whom he eventually comes to see as an adopted brother. The second is Berserk Asta.
“Berserk” is not a term used in the original work, but a Funko label. Still, placed side by side, the two figures map exactly onto the central question of the Spade Kingdom arc: can Asta use the devil without being replaced by him? His entire training with Nacht revolves around that issue, and the series spends a good part of the season keeping that doubt alive.
Two releases, two possible answers to the same question. For a license where Funko has mostly released captains in heroic poses, this is the most carefully constructed wave so far.
The rare piece is locked behind a single retailer – POP #2620
This is the weak point of the release, and it is frustrating.
Berserk Asta is a Chalice Collectibles exclusive, and it is also the figure carrying the wave's Chase: Funko has announced an Aurora Borealis variant, one box in six, with an iridescent finish. The packaging also receives Octane5 authentication, the micro-optic sticker with a unique code that the brand is increasingly using for exclusives.
In other words, the only figure in the wave hiding something, and the only one offering a special finish, is also the only one unavailable through the usual channels. In France, that means relying on resale, with everything that comes with it.
My take on this release
Nacht is the figure to get, and I doubt that will be the majority opinion.
It is his first appearance in the catalog, for a character on whom the entire mechanics of the arc depend, and it is exactly the kind of release that may never come around again. Another Asta will arrive next year and the year after; a vice-captain introduced late in the series, with a restrained design and shadow magic unlike anything else in the license, may not get a second chance.
Dante is the second piece I would defend, for a reason anime collectors know well: villains are released less often than heroes, hold resale value better, and this one arrives in devil form, which is his strongest design. A Dark Triad display will always be more interesting to look at than a fourth Asta.
Which brings me to the two Asta figures. If you only buy one, get the one with the devil arm. Not because it looks better — the Aurora Borealis Berserk is easily the prettiest piece in the wave — but because the other is locked behind a single retailer, and a demonic Asta already exists in the catalog in a glow-in-the-dark version. At some point, variations on the same idea start to blur together.
That leaves the obvious omission: Zenon and Vanica. The Dark Triad is a trio, that is literally why it has that name, and releasing Dante alone repeats the same mistake as waves that only give you half a duo. Zenon is Yuno's fight this season, Funko knows it because the first episode synopsis mentions him, and he is not here. Pre-orders are open, with release scheduled for December 2026.
