Funko is adding nine Pops to its FIFA Football license: six for Bayern Munich, three for Liverpool. Two drops, two clubs, and a single player connecting them. He has already worn the other jersey in vinyl, and his new box just made the first one outdated.
Luis Díaz had his Liverpool Pop, now he has a Bayern one
November 2023: Funko releases Luis Díaz as Pop #55 in Liverpool red, plus a three-pack with Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez. July 2025: Bayern buys him. By April he had 23 goals and 18 assists in 40 games, and he told ESPN that leaving was the right call. October 2026: Pop #111, same player, different red.
The 2023 three-pack has already lost two of its three members at Anfield. A soccer Pop ages at the speed of the transfer window, and this one just found out.
The other drop tells the same summer from Liverpool's side. The forwards who arrived as Díaz left are all here.
- Alexander Isak – Pop #116: signed from Newcastle at the end of August 2025, a record transfer for an English club.
- Hugo Ekitike – Pop #118: signed from Frankfurt the same summer.
- Dominik Szoboszlai – Pop #117: the veteran of the three, at Anfield since 2023.
Add Florian Wirtz, released in August as Pop #103, and three of the license's five Liverpool players are summer 2025 signings.
Bayern lines up four legends and an 18-year-old
Where Liverpool sticks to the current squad, Bayern opens its archives.
- Franz Beckenbauer – Pop #113: the Kaiser, captain of three straight European Cups from 1974 to 1976, who died in January 2024. His first Pop.
- Klaus Augenthaler – Pop #110: sweeper, spent his whole career at the club from 1976 to 1991, 1990 World Cup winner.
- Stefan Effenberg – Pop #112: captain of the 2001 Champions League winners.
- Philipp Lahm – Pop #114: academy product, captain of the 2013 treble and of Germany's 2014 World Cup winners.
- Lennart Karl – Pop #115: 18, the youngest of the 25 Golden Boy 2026 finalists. A muscle injury in June cost him the World Cup, and Vincent Kompany admits he hasn't found last season's level. He came on in the 68th minute of Wednesday's 2-2 against Arsenal.
Add July's wave (Berni, Kane, Kimmich, Musiala, Olise) and Bayern now has eleven Pops in the license. No other club has as many.
The club's greatest goalscorer is missing
I'm taking Lennart Karl. Not the safe pick, I know. Beckenbauer will sell himself, and in ten years he will still be the Kaiser. Karl is frozen at 18, in a slump, before anyone knows what he'll become. Three years from now, this box will either be a star's first Pop or a curiosity. That is exactly what makes it interesting.
The criticism goes to Liverpool. Three active players, two of them recent signings, and not a single legend in the FIFA Football license while Bayern lines up four at once. Those three Pops will date fast, as soon as the next transfer window moves.
And the gap is huge. Bayern releases Beckenbauer without Gerd Müller, his 1970s partner, 365 Bundesliga goals and still the league record. The Kaiser without Der Bomber is half the team that won three European Cups in a row. Thomas Müller, the club's all-time appearance leader, gets nothing either.
All nine figures are up for pre-order, with release expected in December 2026.
