Funko unveils the POPs for the new Willy Wonka movie

Scheduled just before Christmas, the new film retracing the youth of Willy Wonka promises to arrive just in time for the holidays, bringing with it a healthy dose of magic and dreams. Funko couldn't miss the opportunity, and has just unveiled the very first POPs from the film.

Wonka will be released in less than a fortnight, and has a bright future ahead of it this holiday season. The film takes a look back at Willy Wonka's youth (before Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp), when Willy dreams of becoming the world's greatest chocolatier. Relying on his audacity and genius, he takes on an established cartel and revolutionizes the world of chocolate.

Wonka's POP figurines (2023) reflect the world into which the film will transport us: whimsical, colorful and sparkling. Here's a look at some of the characters:

• Willy Wonka (#1476), of course, in his purple coat, holding on to his cane and suitcase.
• Young Noodle (#1477), about to take flight with the help of colorful balloons.
• Arthur Slugworth (#1478), Willy Wonka's great rival with a single ambition: to rule the chocolate world alone.
• Prodnose (#1479), another member of the chocolate cartel opposing Wonka, represented by Funko in his checkered suit.
• The Oompa Loompa creature, holding a piccolo in his hand and represented with an always eccentric look: green hair, purple suit and pompoms on his shoes!

The film promises to be a great success, following in the footsteps of Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and will give even more depth to the characters we quickly discovered in the 2005 film.
