Discover the Mulan figures
Mulan is a Disney cartoon released in 1998 that is inspired by the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, which tells how a young girl pretends to be a man to take the place of her father who is too old to go and fight the Ruanruans. Mulan is the thirty-sixth classic Disney animation. The main character is Fa Mulan, only daughter of Fa Zhou and Fa Li. Mulan in Mandarin means "Magnolia".
At the beginning of the cartoon, the Huns, led by their leader Shan-Yu, invade the country in the middle of the night. The emperor then decrees the mobilization of one man per family. To honor his family, Mulan goes to the city with his mother and grandmother to prepare to meet the matchmaker. But she arrives late with straw in her hair. She is immediately undressed and plunged into a bathtub and then dresses as a bride. Her grandmother gives her a Cri-Kee lucky cricket before meeting the matchmaker. Unfortunately, Cri-Kee escapes and will create quite comical situations where Mulan will commit several blunders to catch him and put him back in her cage that she hides under her clothes. The matchmaker ends up with her ass on fire and swears in front of everyone that Mulan will never get married! Back home, she takes off her make-up and wonders about her place and her duties. Her father Fa Zhou comforts her by alluding to the late blossoming magnolia flower. They are interrupted by the drum announcing the conscription of men. Mulan opposes the departure of his father, who is too old to go into battle, but he must do honour to the family. In the night, she takes her father's conscription order and replaces it with her brooch, cuts her hair with a sword, takes her father's armour and leaves for the military camp. The ancestors of the Fa family instruct Mushu, the family's former guardian, to wake the great dragon to protect Mulan. He inadvertently destroys him and decides with Cri-Kee to protect her by themselves.
This is how Mulan's adventures as a warrior begin. With this collection, Funko pays homage to the famous Mulan cartoon with very faithful Pop figurines of the main heroine Mulan in her wedding or warrior outfit, of her companions Mushu and Cri-Kee but also of the chief of the Huns, Shan Yu.
