The Devil Wears Prada is a cult comedy released in 2006. It's an adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's eponymous novel. The novel tells the story of a young journalism graduate, Andrea dit Andy, who gets her first job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of a prestigious fashion magazine Runway. Despite her contempt for the world of fashion and superficiality, Andy accepted the job and plans to stay for a year with the hope of finding a job as a journalist. She will then undergo Miranda's humiliating treatments and whims. Indeed, Miranda will be very tyrannical and takes a sadistic pleasure in giving rough orders and changing them very often. The first weeks as an assistant are difficult for Andy, but she will be helped by Nigel, the artistic director of the magazine who teaches her her responsibilities but also how to dress better. At first, she hates her job but she holds on. With this job, she has a few advantages, such as being able to move around in a limousine, wearing clothes from the biggest names in haute couture. She ends up completely transformed: new haircut, make-up, new style, more self-confidence. Miranda is then impressed by so much change. Very quickly, she moves away from her boyfriend Nate, who no longer recognizes her. When Andy tells her that she has to go to Paris to accompany Miranda to follow fashion shows, he decides to end their relationship. When Miranda sacrifices Nigel to save her job and explains that she sees herself a bit like Andy. This disgusts her and throws her phone into the fountain, leaving Miranda and the whole fashion world behind!
