Ratatouille is the animated film from the Pixar studios which projects us into an exceptional universe: that of the great restoration. The story intertwines the lives of two people who had little in common: Rémy, a rat living with his family and trying to avoid the traps set by men to survive on the one hand, and Linguini, a young man lost in life who arrives in the kitchens of a large restaurant as a clerk. What they have in common: Gusteau! He is the chef behind the restaurant "Chez Gusteau! "in which the two characters will meet.

Rémy, the rat, is a great lover of cooking. While all rats live only to survive, he lives only for his passion for cooking. He walks on his hind legs to keep his front paws clean when he cooks, knows all the tastes and spices and has learned to read to decipher the recipes in Gusteau's cookbook!

While his clan must urgently evacuate the house they were occupying in the countryside, Rémy is swept away by the current and ends up reaching the capital Paris. Depressed and lost, he comes face to face with the illuminated sign of the restaurant "Chez Gusteau! "and can't bring himself not to go and see the restaurant's Linguini by himself.

The same day, Alfredo Linguine was hired as a clerk in the restaurant. His clumsiness will endanger the restaurant, but Rémy's intervention will save him. In exchange, Linguine agrees to set the little rat who had been captured free and the two protagonists begin an unlikely duet: Linguine carries out Remy's orders to make the most sumptuous recipes.

Very quickly, the praise for Linguini's dishes reaches the ears of Ego, a food critic who had pulverized Gusteau before his death. Ego resigned himself to come and taste the new chef's cuisine for himself, despite all his apriorities... What a surprise when he tastes the ratatouille created by Rémy, and what a surprise when he discovers who the real chef at the stove is...
