Family Guy in its original version is an American animated satyr series created by Seth McFarlane in 1999 and still being broadcast in 2022. This series is inspired by and above all, parodies the genre of American family sitcoms that were still proliferating during the 1990s.

It is indeed difficult not to make the comparison between Family Guy and The Simpsons. Both series, in addition to being both animated, present a simple family man, his wife, a debonair housewife, and their three children including a boy, a girl and a baby. And yet, despite these undeniable similarities in the original body of work, Family Guy, if it can be compared to a series inspired by The Simpsons, can in no way be called a counterfeit.

Indeed, Family Guy is a series that has the particularity of having no limits. The humor is not only corrosive but also scathing. We can't even say that it is a satyr with the only purpose to make people think, the outrageousness of the gags being then sometimes pushed so far that it becomes purely free. But this form of humor, which shocks some people as much as it delights others, must have pleased its audience while the series has lasted for more than 20 years. It should be noted that Family Guy had an interruption of several years after being deprogrammed for lack of audience. But the success of the DVD sales rekindled the enthusiasm of the fans to the point where the series became one of those having known the greatest longevity, thus following the footsteps of Simpson.

It should be added that Family Guy, instead of becoming more and more conventional as the years go by, strives to renew itself to always be subversive, even nearly 25 years later. The characters have undergone some development - relative - in the sense that Peter has become increasingly stupid, Lois increasingly volatile and the duo Brian and Stewie has deepened.

Rich of its main characters as of its secondary characters, the series Family Guy did not know the same success in France as in the United States with regard to the ratings. Audiences to be relativized in the sense that the series has almost never been promoted, precisely because it was too shocking; some passages were even censored.

Cult and outrageous series, Family Guy has marked its time and even several eras while some generations have even grown up with it. Everyone will enjoy discovering the Funko POP collection Family Guy and the entire Griffin family. This, without counting the secondary characters who made the salt of the series.

Family Guy were the first success of Seth McFarlane who continued his efforts by creating in parallel "American Dad", another successful parody series modelled on his original series which also met with immense success, which was also amply deserved due to the violence of the gags.
