POP DJ Sona : Concussive (League of Legends)

Character of the game LOL, Sona (also called Sona DJ) is one of the champions of the League. Her career path is quite different from that of the other fighters since Sona was abandoned when she was just a baby...

Sona is a very calm and disciplined little girl from an orphanage in Iona. Unfortunately, what is believed to be shyness turns out to be a handicap since Sona is mute. Her only means of expression is the music she plays on the strange instrument left with her when she was abandoned.

Sona is eventually adopted by Lestara Buvelle, a wealthy demacienne who seems to be aware of the instrument's capabilities and the fusional relationship between Sona and him. Sona grew up in a loving family, raised as a daughter by the Buvelles.

As she learns more about the instrument, Sona understands that it is an ancient relic named "etwahl", she continues to learn how to play it and even secretly learns techniques to turn it into a weapon. Soon she filled concert halls, thrilling the crowd in unison. While DJ Sona has mastered etwahl, she decides to join the League to fight with her instrument and her music as her weapon.

For this Sona's POP figure in League of Legends, Funko has opted for an exceptional skin where the character is DJ Sona. So we find Sona in a DJ version with headphones reminiscent of Daft Punk's, letting us glimpse her emotions with the vibrations of the music. Under the headphones, you can guess the red hair with two comforters.

The League of Legends POP figures represent the champions in fighting stance, proudly displaying their best weapons such as Ashe's POP with her ice bow or Braum's POP with his shield. For Sona, Funko naturally chose to represent the etwahl, a kind of flat harp, which for the DJ version is posed in a turntable style!

The POP of Sona DJ is rich in colors, retranscribing the "concert" effect. The young woman's hair inevitably helps to accentuate the figure's garish colors, but also the red color of the imposing speakers and the pixels on the young woman's headphones. Finally, Sona is simply depicted in a dark suit that seems to be made of latex for this figurine.

Note: despite the fact that there is no sticker on the box, this POP is an exclusive distributed during the 2016 League of Legends World Championships. It has been produced in only 400 copies, which greatly impacts its side of the game...
