Appa is the mascot of the American animated series Avatar, the Last Airbender. He is a creature from the family of flying bison, also called sky bison, large flying animals that live with the Air Nomads in the temples. Appa is an integral part of the series and is the means of locomotion for Aang and his friends during their adventure.
