Eugene Porter is first introduced as a secondary character in the series The Walking Dead. It's only from the 5th season of the series, that Eugene Porter will impose himself as a real main character! Very cultured and intelligent, Eugene does not hesitate to use manipulation to achieve his goals. Endowed with a very weak combative spirit, he fights with the prowlers only if it is a question of life or death. Highly controversial, Eugene Porter is a character that audiences both love and hate.

The Walking Dead illustrates a world in which humanity is plunged into chaos and terror by supernatural creatures called "walkers". Rick Grimes, the main protagonist of the series, has been in a coma until now, but when he wakes up, he realizes that the entire population is affected by an unknown epidemic. Surrounded by mysteries, this epidemic has the particularity of being able to transform human beings into the living dead, designated as "prowlers" in the series.

The character of Eugene Porter makes his first appearance in season 4 of the series. Presented as a scientist, Eugene pretends to have sufficient knowledge to be able to stop the epidemic which strikes humanity. Originally, he belongs to the group of Sergeant "Abe" Ford and his companion Rosita Espinosa, both devoted to his protection. Throughout the episodes, Eugene will meet Glenn and Tara, two members of the team formed by Rick Grimes. Eugene Porter is a colourful character who will not hesitate to betray his friends and, above all, to show cowardice in order to save his own skin.
