Leonard Hofstadter is one of the main characters in the series The Big Bang Theory. This series follows the adventures of two physicists living together as roommates. Leonard is an experimental physicist at Caltech University in California and Sheldon Cooper, his roommate and colleague is a theoretical physicist. Leonard is the central character of the series, he is the most comfortable among his geek friends and interacts most easily with "normal" people. Leonard is rather shy but he is full of humour and has a great sense of irony. He is very intelligent, despite Sheldon's remarks. The comic effect of the series plays on the gifted scientific side and the geek attitude of the characters. With their two friends Howard Wolowitz and Rajesh Koothrappali, they share their free time playing video games, board games or discussing very complex scientific theories. Their world is disrupted when at the beginning of the series, Leonard meets his new neighbour, Penny, whose dream is to become an actress. He falls in love almost immediately. He will try to seduce her and make her integrate into the group and her universe, which she knows nothing about.
