Annie Leonhart is one of the first antagonists to appear in the Attack of the Titans. First presented as a full member of the 104th Training Brigade, Annie would eventually prove to be the holder of the Women's Titan. A withdrawn and solitary natural, the young woman is endowed with extraordinary hand-to-hand combat skills. Very mysterious, Annie Leonhart wishes only one thing: to accomplish the mission that has been entrusted to her, so that she can return home, beyond the walls?

The plot of the Attack of the Titans takes part in a world where humanity is condemned to live in seclusion and surrounded by walls. Three of these walls protect humans from terrifying creatures: the titans. In 845, the Maria Wall falls. The protagonist Eren Jaeger sees his native village and his family being destroyed before his eyes. Following this tragic event, the young boy decides to join the human army, followed by his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and his best friend Armin Arlelt. In 847, he joined the 104th training brigade and met Annie Leonhart.

Although not very sociable, Annie Leonhart sympathized somewhat with Eren. Moreover, she taught him his martial arts techniques transmitted by his father. Unfortunately, their budding friendship was to be short-lived... After graduating, Annie decided to join the Special Brigades. Annie decided that it was time to take action...
