POP action figure of Saul Goodman #163
You can't get much more devious and scheming than Saul Goodman. It is certain that the way Bob Odenkirk played him did not make the New Mexico lawyers look good. Saul is a Breaking Bad character of questionable morality whose bonhomie (however) tends to make him sympathetic to us. However, we must not lose sight of the character's lack of scruples, who, if he never gets his hands dirty, knows how to make sure that someone else does it for him.
Saul Goodman is only a false name, his real identity being that of Jimmy McGill. He chose the surname Saul Goodman because it is a play on the word "It's all good, man" and because a Jewish name is, in his opinion, a more credible way of posing as a serious lawyer.
A lover of clever and remarkably intelligent schemes, Saul Goodman is a lawyer who has put his remarkable cunning skills to work for some very bad causes. He meets Walter White when the latter is looking for a lawyer to get Brandon out of jail. Because of his natural ability to fool the world by skilfully playing with the law, Saul Goodman ends up becoming a partner of choice for Walter by laundering his money and helping him solve many of the legal problems associated with his illegal drug business. In the end, Saul Goodman is nothing less than the man at the center of Walter White's criminal machine, the legal administrator of a business that is much less legal...
Saul Goodman's reputation has earned him, following Breaking Bad, a series centered around his past called "Better Call Saul", testifying to the popularity of the character with fans. Before he was a shady - but talented - lawyer willing to compromise himself with the worst of the criminal underworld, Jimmy McGill, when he wasn't Saul Goodman, was trying to impress his brother, a famous lawyer known for his probity and professionalism. But the tendency to play with the law in a dangerous way led Jimmy McGill to gradually become Saul Goodman, a bit like Walter White, who, by letting himself be drawn into the world of organized crime, became the fearsome Heisenberg.
The Saul Goodman POP figure shows off the character with the energy and drive he is known for. Indeed, Funko represented Saul Goodman with the pose he takes during his dubious commercials where he points his index finger with a hypocritical and falsely devastating smile.
True to his usual representation, the Saul Goodman POP figure is dressed in a tacky suit with a pink shirt that matches his cheesy stencil, not to mention his garish blue tie. With his side parting, Saul Goodman is also equipped with a hands-free kit in his ear that he routinely uses to chat with his clients, reminding us of the very active side of the character.
Clearly, we feel from Saul Goodman's POP all the deviousness of a character whose antics would make us laugh out loud if we didn't know what a criminal mastermind he really is...
