POP Neo (The Matrix)

A key character in the Matrix saga, this one has been able to expand thanks to him and to continue for more than twenty years already. Neo is supposed to be the chosen one of a prophecy which would like him to be able to one day overcome the order of the machines having created the matrix. The hopes of the entire human race rest on him.

At the beginning of the Matrix story, Neo is just a hacker without much ambition. He's good at what he does, but he's not great at it either. This one, at the beginning of Matrix, accumulates an innocent office job in a software company during the day and works as a hacker at night for unsavory individuals. This duplicity and, above all, this personal investment in the computer world, naturally predisposed him to become aware of the Matrix. It is for this reason that Morpheus will ask him to follow "The White Rabbit".

The White Rabbit will teach him that the world as he sees it is only an illusion, a virtual reality computer program that everyone takes for reality. After allowing him to escape from Agent Smith, Morpheus gives Neo the famous red pill so that he wakes up and discovers the world beyond the matrix.

It is horrified that he wakes up in a pod, connected to a machine by tubes and contemplating around him millions of other individuals connected to the machine and asleep, dreaming of a fake reality in the matrix. Later, Neo is introduced to many programs in order to perfect himself and destroy the Matrix from within. After learning every conceivable martial art and weaponry, Neo will face Agent Smith again only to discover that he is not up to the task. At least, not until he finds the flaws in the matrix. With the eye of a hacker, Neo will be able to rework the Matrix program to his liking. This will allow him to create "bugs" that will allow him to fly and gain access to superhuman strength and abilities.

Later, in the other films of the quadrilogy, Neo will have to go back and forth between the real world and the Matrix in order to thwart the order of the machines that have taken over humanity. With the help of Morpheus, Trinity and other fellow travelers, he will face Agent Smith, his longtime rival.
