Announcement Coming Soon
Published on 26 January 2024 by Juliette
We all love birthdays, especially when it comes to blowing out 80 candles, and even more so when it's for one of Disney's greatest classics. Funko couldn't miss this anniversary, and has released three superb figurines for the occasion.
But which Disney is blowing out its 80 candles? It's Bambi! Walt Disney's 6th feature film, released in 1942 (Funko is a little late, but it's the thought that counts!).
Three new figures for the 80th anniversary
For this announcement, Funko has focused on the three main characters (those already featured in POPs, but for figures released in 2014 and therefore hard to find today...).
Fans of this Disney movie will therefore be able to enjoy collecting very faithful POPs, in classic postures that are, for me, the best way to pay tribute to the film.
It's worth noting that these three figurines are not part of the "Bambi" set, but of the "Disney Classics" set launched in 2022 to pay tribute to the company's greatest classics. This set already included two POPs from Bambi, as well as figures from Peter Pan, Dumbo and Pinnochio.
The line-up for this announcement includes three new figurines:
- POP #1433 of Bambi lying on a bed of daisies ;
- POP #1434 of Flower, the skunk with a big smile;
- POP #1435 of Thumper, the rabbit with his only tooth, shown seated holding a daisy in his hands.
One of Disney's heavyweights
Bambi, a timeless Disney classic, has enchanted audiences around the world since its release in 1942. This iconic animated film tells the moving story of a young deer, Bambi, and his forest friends, exploring life, friendship and the challenges of nature.
Bambi's success lies in its ability to capture the beauty of nature and evoke universal emotions. The exceptional animation and visually stunning landscapes marked a significant advance in the world of animation, creating an immersive visual experience for viewers.
The poignant sequence of Bambi's maternal loss, combined with Frank Churchill's haunting music, touched audiences deeply. The film's ability to address emotional themes and evoke empathy reinforced its cultural impact, making "Bambi" more than just an animated film, but a timeless work that has stood the test of time.
